Road Trip ~ Photo shoot

Well its a beautiful Sunday and what a better way to get out and enjoy the pretty day that the Lord made than a road trip to blowing rock??? Sounds awesome if you ask me and oh it was!! Mallory, my cousin is a Photographer and she had an engagement shoot to do....so i asked if i could tag along and help drive to make the trip seem easy. Other than my full time job at The Renn's Nest, i am going to be assisting Mallory during some of the weddings she is shooting this year and i am beyond excited!!! :)

OK so we are off headed for the open road and if you haven't ever been to blowing rock.... from Unionville, it takes about 2 to 21/2 hours to get there :) We have to of course stop for coffee.....we are or should i say i am a coffee freak! LOVE it.....so we defiantly did a u-turn for dukin' donuts. :)

I had told Mallory earlier that morning that i needed to stop by a Target to purchase a cute Fedora hat for one of my outfits....so she was game. She doesn't love shopping the way I do...photos are her passion! :) Ahhhh in Hickory we spot a target so we stop and she drops me off at the door...i believe that was the quickest target trip i have ever taken...LOL! I found the hat, perfect....then i spot a goldmine! Ladies remember what i was saying about not overlooking a clearance rack, well i wander off to the shoe dept....and on the end cap of one of the shoe aisles i find a sign that says 70% off! and low and behold i find some pretty SWEET looking heels....do they have my size???? Oh yes they do....I found not one, not two, but three pairs of shoes in my size all different and each for only $8.98! Score!!!!! Here below is my deal of the day or should i say DEALS of the day. I only spent $40 for three pairs of shoes and a hat!

So we are off and on the road again....as we are approaching the mountains we are just in excitement of how pretty they are....so here are a few open road shots i took

We arrive at this beautiful mansion and we meet the in love engaged couple (Ryan and Dana)....so cute by the way! :) Mallory goes to work and i am helping her .....all the while i am admiring the wonderful job they did with coordinating their outfits. We start talking and Dana had said she loved the way girls can pull off sundresses and cowboy boots but she knew that just wasn't her....i reassured her that she had great style and to stick with what she likes best!!She wore a cute simple white tee...with denim capri's and rainbow flip flops, all pulled together with a scarf of blues :) I think that's the key for anyone....if you feel that isn't you....don't wear anything that makes you uncomfortable....you Rock what you Like!!! Let your own personality shine through.....the rest will follow! I also think Ryan did a great job with what he wore....just a simple button down shirt, khakis, and flip flops...so relaxed yet pulled together!

I am posting a pic of them by permission of Mallorydawnphotography...so please do not crop or edit :)
Aren't they precious???

So we finish with their engagement photo session and now its my turn! I fore warned Mallory that i had way more wardrobe changes than they did! ha ha...I love the opportunity to play dress up and put different ideas together...i was putting outfits together the night before and i came up with four total! I am in love with the pictures Mallory took and i am going to keep y'all sitting on the edge of your seats because i am only posting one picture right now that she took....don't worry more to come soon ;)
Here is one of the final products:

I cant say it enough girlie's.....Mix your colors and don't be afraid!! Wear what is comfortable to you and bring in different pieces little by little if you have to! I am in love with the Mint green color and since Coral is a Huge color for the summer i decided to mix the two and ta~DA!! :) We sell the shoes i have on at the Renn's Nest and you can change the snaps i tried to match the snaps to my belt to tie it all in...oh and look there is that super cute hat! ;) Mix and match....play dress up .....most of all HAVE FUN with fashion!!

Date Night :)

For some of you who know me, y'all know i have another half....his name is Matt! We have been dating for a year and about 5 months :) He is so sweet, loving, caring...OK enough of the sticky sweet stuff...he's also funny and crazy and my favorite he can sing and play guitar! :) He moved down here from New York about two years ago, he has family here and luckily a few of our mutual friends set us up and the rest is history...:) I have had my fair share of dating the toads/frogs but i truly believe i have found my prince!!

Anyways now that you have a background on Matt and I....We had a wonderful date night this past Friday night! :) I look so forward to those moments when we get to spend quality time together. Y'all know me i had to look good, especially for my man! So here is what i put together for our little date night out.......

So i love COLOR!!!!! This little ensemble is great for a warm summer night to look cute. I have some very comfortable seersucker American Eagle shorts, you can dress up or wear casual. I decided to dress them up a little....
with these wonderful cuties!! Wedges are HUGE this spring~summer! So ladies lets keep up with the trends and show off those pretty legs in a cute pair of wedges! There are all kinds to choose from which makes it great for ladies who cant wear high heels or higher shoes. A wedge shoe/platform shoe is great to help stabilize you when you walk, which makes it easy and fashionable, a definite Plus!

So as you can see, there are some greens, navy, and blues in these shoes....so with my seersucker shorts i paired them with a navy tank(simple and light~Mossimo brand from Target) and a Kelley green cardigan from Gap! :) Since, there is so much color in my outfit i toned down my jewelry and wore my heart~diamond necklace, Matt gave to me on our 1year anniversary! ;)

I thought the outfit turned out to be a success because of course Matt gave me sweet compliments :) Ladies....make your men feel proud to have you on their arm when you go out on the town.....Most importantly make yourself feel proud! :) Go rock a wonderful outfit...and make yourself a wonderful YOU!
